Life ebbs and flows, and this is a decision that has been a long time coming.

UPDATED:

I have had several clients reaching out for Summer 2022 on Cape Cod, which thrills me to no end. It seems as though we are collectively back to life, and it feels really great. I am excited and looking forward to a fabulous summer season.

If you follow along, you know that in recent years, I spend a majority of my time in the SF Bay Area.
Since last summer, my partner and I have opened a café in Alameda, CA (soon to be two!) to support the little coffee brand we started during our pandemic lockdown, SIGNAL Coffee Roasters (www.signalcoffee.com). He roasts every batch, still, and I do a little of everything else toward our quickly growing business, which has kept me quite occupied this winter here in California!

With that, my time on the Cape this summer will be somewhat limited. While I hope to see many of you, I realize also that I may miss some of my favorite clients this summer. I am hopeful to make it all work. Please reach out with your anticipated dates as soon as possible, as I may be able to arrange my travel to accommodate. For now, I have as a tentative schedule, the following:

This is subject to change, but as I do now have a few sessions on the calendar, I am starting to think ahead with the warm weather coming right up and to allow for some planning.
Please inquire regardless if your trip falls outside of these dates as I may be flexible, depending.

I am now heading back to the West Coast and the SF Bay Area for the last couple of weeks of summer as my partner and I are opening a coffee shop for our coffee brand SIGNAL Coffee Roasters ( www.signalcoffee.com ) and we have so much going on there! With that, I am now available on the west coast from August 17-September 9th for sunset coastal portraits, and hoping to book up my schedule in Alameda, San Francisco, Marin, and Half Moon Bay!
My Cape Cod summer sessions will now only be available through August 15th and I am booking the last of my availability quickly. If you hope to get on my Cape schedule, it will have to be before the 15th of August or sometime in September for more of a fall session when I return for a few weeks to the east coast. I am only here at our California home on the island of Alameda for a few more weeks before I launch into a busy east coast summer. I am loving my work at the “beach across the street” from my home here, and I hope to squeeze in a few more sessions before I head east!
If you are here on Alameda also, please inquire about my west coast intro package for new clients, I would love to help to create these invaluable memories for you to treasure. These are typically sunset golden hour sessions at Crown Memorial Beach. I look forward to meeting you!

Now is the time to get in on my California Coastal Portraits!
The weather in the Bay Area has been unusually warm and really quite perfect for what I do, essentially extending my summer portrait season! I am loving how fluid my work has become between these two places I adore, my California sessions are growing and it is thrilling.
The holidays are just around the corner and I do still have some availability on my schedule for November.
Please reach out if considering a session, I have some introductory rates happening for new clients and those local to my winter home in the East Bay.

UPDATE: Due to the pandemic, and the uncertainty of the travel season, my Cape Cod summer dates have changed. My Cape Cod portrait calendar will now be open from August 1st through Sept 13th, 2020. Please read on below for further details on how I will be handling my sessions this season.

I am planning to be back on the Cape as of now (AUGUST 1st) for my summer season of Coastal Portraits. I am infinitely hopeful that the pandemic curve will be flattened enough for some semblance of normal by then.🤞

So, looking forward toward summer sessions in Massachusetts, and as of now, my calendar is optimistically, yet tentatively open.

With that, I am honoring the fact that nothing is stable in planning for the foreseeable future, so any bookings made in good faith are subject to change (on both ends depending) and REFUNDABLE if need be, as we have a better sense of what can be accomplished this summer season.

I anticipate social distancing as the new normal and will be taking precautions for the safety of your family and mine, including wearing a fabric mask during my sessions for the entirety of this summer season.

It is still better to secure a date with me ahead of time rather than wait until the last minute. If you have a trip planned to the Cape, feel comfortable in setting your portrait date now for best availability.

When life suddenly shifts, the ground soft beneath our feet, the one thing we learn to cherish and hold tightly to are the ones who are the closest to us.
Everything else falls away, love is what matters most.

When my late husband, Tom, first learned of his ALS diagnosis, we traveled.

I scheduled a portrait session on the beach in Hawaii, as I realized that even I, as a portrait photographer, did not have many photographs of us together (besides from our wedding), and certainly not anything more than a snap here and there. I knew how priceless they would become, and it is true, they have.

Not only are the images something I dearly treasure, but also the memory of the actual session.
It was poignant and bittersweet, but also, a beautiful window of time where it was just us, full of warmth, closeness, love and connection. The entire experience is a part of what remains.

Now in this time of quiet and togetherness, this idea of creating a family portrait in an open and beautiful landscape, with the memories and joy to be found in our newfound human connection and closeness, will be of utmost value in the years to come, when life continues forward, as our health and those we love are elevated to that which is irreplaceable.

Upon our collective re-emergence, I would be humbled and honored to be the one trusted to capture this experience for you and yours.

I am thrilled with the new California location of Rebecca Brown PHOTO, in the stunning seaside town of Sausalito! This town is the perfect compliment to my east coast, Cape Cod home, with its artsy feel and nautical vibe. So grateful to have found a landing spot here at 323 Pine Street.

I am in the Bay Area this season now until June of 2020, and available for my unique Coastal Portraiture all winter long. Happy to travel to all points south on the California coast as well, following the sun!
